Dancers: Sean Hoskins & Emma Seidel
Filmed at Betty Pease Studio Theater, Ann Arbor, MI
Screened at Third Century Expo, Oct. 26-28, 2017

I created this screendance for the unique 5-screen Pop-Up Projection Pavilion created by Peter Sparling. The Third Century Screens competition solicited entries from alumni, faculty, and students at the University of Michigan during the University’s Bicentennial year, and I designed a project for this format.

Recording in a dance studio with lighting from two booms allowed the dancers to appear from and retreat into the darkness, devoid of specific setting. I utilized this in order to have my screendance focus on the composition across and between the screens.  I recorded using a Canon XF-200 camera
